Return to Presence

Return to Presence

Welcome to Return to Presence 3.0, friend!

This is a FREE, 8 week, online, yoga therapy for trauma program. It has been run twice already. With the significant majority of participants reporting important, positive shifts in their trauma recovery.

“I love Cands’ gentle nature and approach and the way you learn to see presence and your body in a new way.
It is a
safe space to learn and grow.”

This program was born out of my, Cands, desire to serve as many individuals as possible that feel trapped and controlled by their trauma, and any significant stressors that have impacted their lives.

We know that trauma can become lodged in our bodies and show up in all sorts of tough ways. I too, am a survivor of trauma & PTSD, and have been through a tough journey to freedom & peace.

The good news, friend – is that it can be released. You can experience freedom from trauma, and you can find the release that you are in search of. I have been on this journey & I have lead many, many others through this journey.

“Cands is gentle, and I always felt at ease in her classes. I loved that!!!! I never felt judged.”

As a yoga therapist & counsellor with a strong public health background, it’s important to me that this yoga therapy for trauma program is not only evidence-based and effective – but that is accessible to all that need it too.

Evidence-based

This program is & will continue to be informed by some of the most recent & important academic research on trauma, mind-body medicine & yoga therapy for trauma. You can read more about my background here.

Effective

Participants are asked to complete a feedback questionnaire at the end of the program – to ensure the programs outcomes are measured, achieved & that the program’s future iterations are based on what is most effective for the healing of trauma, from the perspective of those on the journey.

Accessible

This program is run entirely online and is FREE. Forever. All someone needs to attend is a stable internet connection & relevant device. (I am working on funds for specific communities who may struggle with this – so that we further increase access by connecting them to local devices & internet connections too. More on that soon! 😍). I would love for you to share it with others! You can share this link with them – www.candiceclark.co.za/return-to-presence

“I loved the gentle flow and manner in which it was handled and presented. It made me feel comfortable and taught me a new way of interaction with my body and mind.”

FAQs:

Will there be recordings?

No, unfortunately due to the nature of yoga therapy for trauma – this space needs to be held sensitively and therefore can only be attended live.

What if I am going to be late for a session?

The sessions begin promptly at the times listed above and are locked within 5 minutes of starting. This is to ensure we limit distractions in what is being created as a healing space. Please make sure you are in the waiting room at least 10mins to starting.

What do we do in the sessions?

There are 4 sessions in total. The Introductory & Closing Sessions are educational sessions where we chat through trauma, it’s impact on the mind/body connection as well as simple grounding & breathing techniques. The 2 other sessions are yoga classes that are gentle yoga flows. They have been carefully designed to allow for the start of the integration of trauma.

Will I need to have my video on during the Zoom classes?

No, if you are more comfortable with having your video off, you are welcome to have it off. I do however invite you to participate in the discussions and questions via your audio. Co-creating the experience with you is something that  will really help to make this program impactful for you.

What happens after the program?

You are invited to join the next pro-bono program, or work with me one on one <link to yoga therapy page> should you wish to (I have limited private slots available, and only see 2 clients per month).

What if I miss a session?

I invite you to commit to and pre-plan your diary & other commitments, to ensure that you receive full benefit of the program. There are no make-up sessions or recordings shared.

I’m worried I’m not flexible enough?

This is a very gentle, accessible form of yoga. You do not need to have practiced before. You are not likely to work up a sweat 🙂 This is more about mind/body connection, mindfulness and breathing techniques.

The times don’t work for me – are there alternative sessions? As I’ve received interest from multiple time zones, the times listed above are the best ones to accommodate all who are interested at this stage.

What equipment do I need?

Simply a yoga mat / towel! As well as 2 fluffy blankets & 2 pillows. This is to create restful poses within the yoga class. Wearing comfortable clothing such as leggings and a loose top, will help you move through the class more comfortably.

Will I have access to you & questions during the program?

Of course! That is exactly what our community WA group is for (you will receive the link upon booking).

Can I share this with friends, family, clients & others?

Yes you are welcome to! The intake will close on 22 February ‘21.
